REQUIREMENTS

All candidates must possess a strong foundation in Computer Science and have a proven track record of sound code design, reuse, and maintenance. Ideal candidates possess end-to-end knowledge of the content management and web application space, including performance and scalability, design and tuning, data migration, SEO strategy execution, CDN implementation, metrics and third party web services integration, and general knowledge of open source products and frameworks. The successful candidate will have expertise in general system administration in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments, database administration and tuning, and web server configuration.

SKILLS

·         Ideal candidates possess end-to-end knowledge of the content management and web application space including performance and scalability design and tuning, data migration, SEO strategy execution, CDN implementation, metrics and third party web services integration, and general knowledge of open source products and frameworks.

·         In addition, the successful candidate will have expertise in general system administration in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments, database administration and tuning, and web server configuration. 

·         Java J2EE Object Oriented Programming skills with Content Management experience

·         Unix/Linux commanding line scripting

·         Third-party search engine configuration and integration

·         Experience with Apache and IIS web server configuration, tuning, and extension modules & HIGH traffic sites

·         Understanding of algorithms as they affect performance and memory usage

Experience with Java frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate, and Lucene/Solr are a plus.  Experience with Memcached, Google Search Appliance, MySQL clustering a plus. Python and Ruby are a strong plus. PHP and other scripting languages a plus.

Using a broad array of web technologies, candidates must appreciate both the User Experience and Technology aspects of a successful online operation and work with clients to define their requirements and shape their vision for development.

NorthPoint projects are delivered with 3-8 person teams so you are not just a lead, you are an active developer on each project. These are full life cycle projects that include Requirements Gathering, Design/Architecture, Development, and Deployment of business tools.
