Training and Development
NorthPoint Training Program
All NorthPoint consultants are granted the benefit of time for career development training and are encouraged to dedicate time annually for formal training, whether in-house, on-line, or at external events through the NorthPoint Training Program. In addition, NorthPoint supports the pursuit of both Technology (MCSD/SCJD) and Industry Specific (CFA) type certifications. Managers and mentors help their team members identify areas on which they should seek training. A review of continuing growth and career development is integral to the culture at NorthPoint.
NorthPoint Lunch and Learn Program
The NorthPoint Lunch and Learn program provides a great opportunity for NorthPoint consultants to come together and share their knowledge, expertise, and client experiences. Several times throughout the year NorthPoint consultants converge at the NorthPoint Headquarters for presentations from their colleagues while enjoying a catered lunch from NorthPoint. These presentations can be focused on a new technology or the application of a particular technology solution, an area of business domain knowledge, or an interesting and relevant experience with a client. NorthPoint launched its Lunch and Learn program several years ago and it has been a great success.
NorthPoint Management/Mentoring Program
It is a priority of the NorthPoint Sr. Management team to maintain a culture which promotes the constant improvement of professional skills while encouraging continuous learning and advancement of technical and business acumen. Ideally, a culture which keeps our people connected to the company in ways that deliver tangible benefits to the individual and to the organization while promoting growth in roles and responsibilities. We realize this can be a challenge for any consultancy where people move from project to project and spend a significant amount of time out at a variety of client sites.
In the spirit of this, NorthPoint established the Management / MentoringProgram. In this program each NorthPoint consultant has a dedicated Manager/Mentor to ensure that each consultant has a consistent point person they can go to and who is paying attention to provide coaching, and guidance on their projects. The Management/Mentoring Program also assists with the on-boarding of new consultants helping them more quickly assimilate into NorthPoint’s high performance culture.
