The new system would support the Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Commercial Banking, Tax, Capital Markets, and Operations departments. Calyon decided not to replace all of their applications with Oracle Financials, the scope of the project was to replace the general ledger and the associated reporting only. Since Oracle only contained General Ledger information, a reporting warehouse was needed in order to replace all of the legacy reporting. Northpoint implemented both an ad hoc and a batch reporting solution using the Business Objects suite of tools.
