World Wide Business Research (WBR) Gets a New Platform to Quickly Launch New Marketing Microsites
Worldwide Business Research (WBR) is the world's biggest large scale conference company, and needed a platform to drive their 130+ event sites as well as their corporate site.
The Solution
NorthPoint leveraged the Ektron CMS400 system to build the WBR solution. NorthPoint’s solution allows WBR to manage all site data and structure through the Ektron Workarea, while also auto-generating new event sites through an Event Creation Wizard process.
The Result
WBR now has a platform to quickly and easily launch and support all of their event websites. The Event Creation Wizard has reduced the time required to launch a new event website from several days to minutes.

- Event Creation Wizard
- NorthPoint created a process for generating new events based on an existing structure of folders and objects that exist in the Ektron structure. This wizard allows users to enter basic information about an event, and then calls the API to copy and update the structure of data in the template.
- Dynamic Control of Site Templates
- NorthPoint developed WBR’s site display engine to support the use of any number of master pages and templates. WBR’s design staff is able to develop new site templates and simply drop them into the solution in order to provide the content team with completely new looks for their upcoming events.
- Bulk Image Importation Process
- NorthPoint designed a method for uploading ZIP files to the site, and having those files decompress and moving their image content directly into the Ektron Library at a specified directory. This process allows WBR to quickly move image content for a given event site into the system without going through Ektron’s drag-and-drop process.
